1.
I can keep you hidden in the stars Even in morning light or dark Stay awake, we'll rise up with the sun Slowly coming down
2.
California 01:46
Oh California With your blue moon and your stars Meet me at the border You're really not that far
3.
Any Old Day 03:33
I went looking for your sweet loving and found it all the way down Sinking ships and tall white mansions come tumbling down I was walking six feet under just hanging around Then I stopped and came to a road block And I had to turn around I met a lady, a pretty pretty lady But she turned me down I met her sister, she wasn't so pretty We did the dirty rounds She said "I'd love to play your heart tonight" I went to sleep and my lonely heart turned black Don't you cry you sweet, sweet baby Your daddy's home He's been working late, late evenings To get you a bone I was walking, sweet, sweet walking Just walking away Fifty feet, fifty feet under, like any old day
4.
Setting hearts and setting suns Over soft, warm canyons The lazy moon is in your eyes Drawing low, fallen tides We're slowly sinking around the bend Now I see what you meant I can't get over you I left the city because the sound Drove all night and ran aground Went into the deep country Lost in love and everything I can't get over you
5.
America 03:38
America is falling for you Your hash browns and your broken tunes Your full of walls and phonies tonight I always knew you would be alright I fell asleep, my shoes untied Down the street, a mile wide You've got something caught in your heart I didn't know you to fall apart You filled your heart with smoke and with me The you left for the country You left me there asleep and undone On lazy highways of daughters and sons I'd say that you were all alone I'd say that we are all alone I've loved and loved, sometime ago So got to sleep, you've got sleep to go When I was low, and without a station I gave her away to the United Nations You're so lonesome you don't even care
6.
The last time that I saw your face It was thin and pale and sad We'd spent many lonely evenings Just lying in the sand We were waiting such a long time for you Do you remember what was said All those drunken nights Underneath the wooden stairs sipping the moonlight? We were waiting such a long time for you Listening to the radio all night Waiting for the moon to climb up high Tonight I still wear your old winter coat Every now and then Even though it's much too small And there's only one button We were waiting such a long time for you
7.
My silly heart has done it again So misunderstood at everything I'm full of wrong notes I can't seem to mend I need you honey, I need you again Don't say goodbye, don't say goodnight Just go back to sleep and turn out your light I'll make the bed, I'll tuck you in I'll let you in on everything So love is love You can't have enough Slowly dive in love I'd rearrange the stars to get you back in my heart I'd roll to you, back to the start I wish I could fill your honey jar With pretty words and shiny stars So love is love You can't have enough Slowly die in love
8.
Back In Me 04:48
If I settle down If I run dry No I won't be afraid If I try to leave If I try to run No I won't be afraid If I leave it all would you have me fall back to you? If I move the floor If I turn you on No I won't make a sound If I let you in If I let you out No I won't make a sound If I leave it all would you have me fall back in you? If I take it all can I see you fall back in me?
9.
Country Lane 03:39
We're moving up Country We're moving up Country We'll take a ride to the riverside We're moving up Country And we'll never go back and we'll never run dry I saw acres in my sleep And minnows in the creek Rolling hills and cotton mills Acres in my sleep And we'll never go back and we'll never run dry I heard crickets in my sleep And bullfrogs in the creek Grass and farms and miles of barns Crickets in my sleep And we'll sleep on the bank and we'll laughing the shade Oh country lane Silos in the sun Meadows one by one Empty roads and row boats Silos in the sun And I'll never go back and I'll never run dry
10.
Great Divide 02:56
Saw your face in '45 The days when you were still alive Now you're on the other side And crossed into the great divide I can't remember if I cried When I heard you fell behind But I wish you could of tried And stepped into the great divide It's home
11.
I'll stay sober for me dear until my dying day I won't ever cry no tears, just let me drink today If I should ever fall or stray Then lead me to God's home And if God should strike me down Then I'll rest my bones I won't ever be caught lying But if I ever stop my trying Then lay down my soul to rest Until my dying day

about

The self-titled debut album from Jason Kent (Sunfields, Elephant Stone, The Dears) is a hurricane of joy and despair, love and redemption, steeped in folk, indie rock and psychedelia. Originally released in 2006 (Izumi Records (UK) and Maplemusic). The album was a critical darling and drew comparisons to Beck, Neil Young and Wilco. The album showcases Kent's many faces, from the muddy half-spoken rocker "Any Old Day", to the heart tugging ballad "Slowly Dive in Love" which is reminiscent of Lennon's early solo work.
He has since released an additional four records with his acid laced pop quartet, Sunfields, since their inception in 2009.
He now has a catalogue of over 400 recorded songs, and a BFA in Art History.

about

Jason Kent Montreal, Québec

Swampy folk rock rooted deep in the caverns of song. Spending most of his 20's glued to a 4track machine, Kent amassed over 350 songs before he released his debut album in 2006. Morphed into Sunfields and back.
